Due to Pearl Harbor’s popularity, lines to get in can be excruciatingly long. It is highly recommended to arrive early. To minimize standing in lines, take one of several Pearl Harbor Tours that are available. Duck tours are unique in that they use an amphibious vehicle that takes you to the Memorials of Pearl Harbor, as well as driving straight into the ocean for a splashdown at the historic Sand Island. Some other Pearl Harbor tours even combine Hawaii attractions such as the National Cemetery of the Pacific at the Punchbowl Crater.

The Na Pali Coast extends for many miles with verdant, green razor-like cliffs. It is truly inspirational to see firsthand. Many Na Pali boat tours, from rafts to catamarans, take you to view beaches, sea arches, stunning cliffs, and the abundant marine life. Some Na Pali boat tours even make landfall on beaches when weather permits. Kayak tours are also available. Hiking the Kalalau trail from the Princeville side of Kauai is an amazing trek. The full 11 Miles is only for the experienced hiker. However, within the first mile or so you will see many beautiful sights including Hawaii waterfalls. Located 10 miles east of Waikiki along Kalaniana'ole Highway, Hanauma Bay features world-class snorkeling and is one of the top 10 Hawaii attractions suited for the entire family. Hanauma Bay is a volcanic crater that was flooded many years ago, causing the exterior wall to collapse. The curvature of Hanauma Bay provides protection from large ocean waves and provides great snorkeling. The crystal-blue ocean crater is full of bright and diverse species of fish, rays and turtles. Hanauma Bay's beach is great for sunbathing and also has picnic, restroom facilities and even hiking trails. Hanauma Bay gets crowded so make sure you get there early or take one of the Hanauma Bay snorkeling tours. Also, note that Hanauma Bay charges an entrance fee and is closed on Tuesdays.

Diamond Head Crater is located on Oahu, just east of Waikiki and next to Kapi’olani Park. Quite possibly Hawaii’s most recognizable natural Oahu landmark, Diamond Head provides panoramic views of Waikiki, downtown Honolulu, the Diamond Head Lighthouse and the blue Hawaiian waters of the Pacific. There is a 1.5 mile round-trip hike that is a must if you are in decent hiking condition, providing a great orientation to the geographic location of Waikiki. On a clear day you may even be able to see the neighboring Island of Maui or Molokai. Hiking Diamond Head Crater is definitely recommended and well worth it simply due to the amazing views.
